A Safe Haven for Bees

Honey I’m Home Sanctuary protects honeybees and native pollinators while inspiring and educating the public to plant pollinator-friendly landscapes and beautify the community.

Helping Pollinators Thrive

Pollinators are responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat, yet bee populations are declining due to habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change.

Honey I’m Home Sanctuary exists to give pollinators a safe place to thrive while helping communities reconnect with nature.

Through habitat restoration and expansion, bee rescue, education, and pollinator-friendly gardening, we are building a future where bees—and the ecosystems they support—can flourish again.

Bee Rescue

We safely remove and relocate survivor honeybee colonies and give them a protected home at the sanctuary.
*Coming Soon*

Pollinator Habitat

We plant and maintain native wildflower gardens that support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, in neglected yards and forgotten patches of land.

Education

We teach the public about the importance of avoiding pesticide use and how to transform their yards into beautiful and beneficial pollinator habitats.

A Pollinator and People Paradise

The sanctuary will be a living landscape of California natives—poppies, lupine, yarrow, ceanothus, oak, manzanita, and more—providing nectar and pollen throughout the year.

We will create a space where members of the public can get to know our ‘spicier’ local survivor bee population—dispelling myths of ‘killer bees’ and the like— and educate them on the importance of keeping this unique population thriving in SoCal.

We will be a family-friendly locale with bee suits on hand, so everyone can get up close and personal with our bees safely. Safety will always be our number one concern, for both our visitors and our bees.

We’ll offer free or low-cost workshops on beekeeping, native gardening, composting, landscape design, planting for pollinators, and more.

We hope for the sanctuary to become a destination for healing hive air and hive room experiences as well—imagine being surrounded with the healing frequency honeybees create, while resting comfortably, no bees in sight. Not your thing? That’s fine too. We’ll have plenty of ways to get acquainted with our residents.

GET INVOLVED

Plant a Pollinator Garden

Even a small patch of flowers helps bees and other pollinators. Replacing a water-guzzling lawn is a great start.

Volunteer

Come plant a pollinator garden in the community with us, pull weeds, turn compost, help maintain the hives, or liaise with visitors.

Support the Sanctuary

Donations help us rescue bees, restore habitat, and spread awareness about the largest and most consequential mass extinction event of our time.
